What is Akademisk kvart?

Akademisk kvart is a platform where those who have a residence to let can place and ad and students who are in need of accommodation can find it. To be able to advertise or reply to ads you need to register on the website. Registering with Akademisk kvart is not the same as registering in a housing queue, but gives you access to the information available on the website. Any communication between advertisers and interested persons takes place directly between the two through the contact details the advertiser has chosen to publish or through the website’s messaging function.

How do I place an ad?

To place and ad, go to the home page and click on “Place an ad. Enter all the information required in the form. When you submit an ad, a user account is created for you using the email address you have entered under “About you”. You will receive an automatic email from us regarding creating a password – this will be needed if you wish to advertise with us again later on.

When you have submitted your ad it will be manually reviewed and, if it complies with our advertising conditions, it will be published. If the ad does not comply with our conditions you will receive an e-mail with information about what needs to be corrected for the conditions to be med. You can find our conditions here.   

Why do I have to submit my Swedish personal identity number when submitting an ad?

Your Swedish personal identity number will only be seen by we who are reviewing the ads and are employed by SSCO. We do not share any personal data with any third parties. During our routine screening we will check who the Swedish personal identity number belongs to and what address this person is registered (folkbokförd) at. This is done to ensure the legitimacy of the ads that are posted and prevent fraud. 

It says that my e-mail address already is registered. What does that mean?

If you have advertised through Akademisk kvart previously a user account will have been created the first time you submitted your ad. Then you also would have received an e-mail with a link to create a password. If you have forgotten your password you can create a new one by following the instructions below.

I have forgotten my password. What should I do?

When you submitted an ad to us the first time you received an email with a link to create a password. If you have forgotten your password you can order a new one. Do so by clicking on “Sign in” and then on "Forgot password?".  

How do I delete my ad?

You can delete your ad by signing in to Akademisk kvart and finding your ad in the feed or on “My pages”. To the right on the screen you should see a bin symbol, click on that to delete the ad. Alternatively, you can also email us at info@akademiskkvart.se and say that you wish to have the ad removed. Remember to let us know the street address.

How do I edit my ad?

You can edit your ad by signing in to Akademisk kvart and finding your ad in the feed or on “My pages”.  To the right on the screen you should see a pen symbol. Click on that to get to the editor. Complete your changes and submit the ad for review. The ad will be published after a new manual review and you will receive an email when it has been republished. If you have trouble editing your ad you can contact us at info@akademiskkvart.se.

How do I reply to an ad I am interested in it?

When you have found and ad you are interested in it is up to you to contact the advertiser. Call, e-mail or send a message through the message function. Remember to fill in your contact details. You do not need to register an account to contact advertisers.  

Can I submit or edit my ad through my mobile phone?

Our website is adapted so that you can place an ad through your phone. At the moment you cannot, however, edit or delete an ad through your phone. To do so you need to log on to a computer.
